Analyzing the MVP’s previous style choices, we were less than surprised to find Panthers starting quarterback and dab extraordinaire Cam Newton sporting fur tailed cleats during Thursday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

It was only two weeks ago that Twitter exploded with people describing Newton’s $1,100 Giuseppe Zanotti sneakers on a spectrum somewhere between pepper jack cheese and Baskin Robbins ice cream.

Since the Gucci fur loafer hit stores in 2015, there’s been an undeniable increase in the amount of fur, both real and faux, hitting the streets (literally). Partnering for the second time with Manolo Blahnik, Rihanna recently revised the classic Timberland boot for a more elevated look after she #MadeSlidesGreatAgain by adding some much-needed plush. Maison Margiela gave those looking to yodel with yaks a sense of belonging with their furry-heeled slippers from their 2015 Fall collection.
