There’s a distinct, edgy quality that comes with wearing leather. Put on a black leather jacket and suddenly you’ve transformed into a woman who means business. But did you know there are ways to recreate the same tough façade without a traditional leather jacket? Save some winter clothes money to purchase something a little unconventional this fall.
The Leather Fashion Harness
Chokers have been a popular trend the past few years to add flair to a basic outfit. If you’re wanting even more flair, then look for a leather harness, especially if you’re a body jewelry fan.
The innovative and stylish Eugénie Grey, Instagram celebrity featured on Buzzfeed, Refinery29, and several other outlets, shared her opinion on her favorite leather piece for this fall.
“The leather harnesses will continue to be on the up-and-up.” Eugénie said. “The harness can be paired with everything from a basic tank top to style it up to a fancy blouse to give it some edge.”

The Floral Moto
Floral patterns are popular thanks to celebrities like Selena Gomez and Kate Middleton flaunting beautiful flower adorned dresses for the summer. Unfortunately, most of us are starting to retire our floral patterns as fall arrives. The weather may be getting colder, but who’s to say flowers can’t still be blooming? Floral embroidered, print jackets have been popping up and selling out at popular retailers and department stores such as Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale’s. They’re the perfect piece to slip on over a dress on a chilly day for both toughness and femininity. I personally prefer the moto jacket because the shape matches better with my body type.

The Leather Mini Skirt
Thankfully, you can still wear a skirt without getting chilly because it’s only fall! If you need extra warmth, opt for the leather mini skirt. The rise of mini denim skirts was apparent this past spring and summer, but now that it’s fall, try switching out the material. Leather mini skirts are versatile- try pairing the skirt with a muted color blouse, lace top, or turtleneck for a night out. For daytime, pair it with a pullover sweater or a sweatshirt. It’s a piece that you’ll be able to wear several times throughout the season and it’ll never get old.
