Student Style Spotlight: Bria Johnson

Meet Bria Johnson, one of WFU Style’s new members this year.

I caught up with her to talk about scoring deals, her Instagram crushes, and how she would describe her personal style.

Her style icon: Solange Knowles

One of her favorite Instagram accounts: Being Her– a lifestyle blog run by twin Ethiopian fashion bloggers named Hermon and Herona, who are also deaf.

An adjective to describe her personal style: “My style depends on my mood. I just want it to be fun.”

On the evolution of her style: “In high school, we weren’t allowed to wear sweatpants or leggings, and I didn’t want to be basic when I had to dress up. I did colored pants and printed pants and things like that. I’m a big fan of Mary Janes and mules. I would say my style is my journey, so depending on the day it constantly changes.”

On where she shops: “I shop everywhere! My mom always taught me that no matter your socioeconomic background, a deal is a deal. If you have $1,000, don’t buy the most expensive thing. Start with the clearance rack. Target is my secret weapon spot for shopping. I also love H&M, Forever 21, Boohoo, and Altar’d State. I also shop at Ivy and Leo and BohoBlu in Winston.”

On joining WFU Style: “I joined WFUStyle because I like to be fashionable and to write and express myself. I also want to bring diversity to the club- we have really diverse styles, but in the past the club didn’t have the most diverse people.”

Bria is also starting a blog with her friend called “Denim and a Dream” that should be published in the next few weeks, and in her free time she is also an avid party planner and decorator.
