As a self-proclaimed Winston-Salem foodie, I am always on the lookout for new restaurants.
I have a list of about thirty local restaurants in my phone that serves as my guide to dinner off-campus. I am amazed by the seemingly endless selection of delicious restaurants in the beloved, underestimated town that is Winston-Salem.
After reading an article in the Winston-Salem Journal about the new burger bars popping up around town, I decided it was time to take a road trip to Maxburger, the new burger bar that opened in March.
The restaurant is about twenty minutes from campus, but well worth the voyage through the outskirts of Winston. The menu is expansive and full of both indulgent and healthy options.
The first step was picking a milkshake from the list of ten, which includes classic flavors such as Cookies ‘n Creme and Sea Salt Caramel but also has house specialties such as Krispy Kreme, Berry Berry Good, and Greek Yogurt.
As if the delicious milkshakes weren’t enough, Maxburger has a portion of its menu that is dedicated entirely to different types of “festive fries,” including parmesan truffle fries, sweet potato fries, southwestern fries, and zucchini fries.
You can also build your own sandwich or burger and choose from over 25 toppings.
I already can’t wait to plan my next road trip to Maxburger, a welcome oasis from the Pit. I can hear the Berry Berry Good milkshake calling my name.
So if you’re in the mood for hot dogs, burgers, ice cream, a gyro, chili, wings, a healthy salad, or basically any other kind of delicious food, make Maxburger your next restaurant destination- trust me, you won’t regret it!
