The Must-Have Self-Care Routine: How to Glow
by Margaret Rand
If there isn’t a more perfect time to create your ideal skin care routine... it’s now. Each morning after you have your much-needed coffee from staying up all night zoomin friends, it’s time to start your day with an extra boost of confidence and self-care. The end of quarantine and summertime are around the corner, so it’s time to get ready to re-enter society as our glowing, most natural and beautiful selves. That said, I’ve researched and tested some of my new must-have skin and beauty products to stun on the streets post-quarantine.
1. The iconic beauty brand known for its soft pink logo, Glossier, has an incredible Moisturizing Moon Mask to revamp dry skin and leave us looking more fresh after we wake up.
2. The Tan-Luxe THE FACE Illuminating Self-Tan Drops are perfect for bringing some color to our pale faces that mostly see the light from our iPhone screens in quarantine- except for the occasional family walk. These drops are on the pricier side but are the best quality and most natural tanner to use on your skin. It is great for all skin types- moisturizing and glowy for the perfect start to summer.
3. The Physician’s Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer is my new favorite bronzer and so affordable. I bought this bronzer from my nearby drugstore for around $10 and LOVE it. This bronzer varies for different skintones to find your perfect fit with a light shimmer for some natural shine.
4. Another amazing product that I now live by is the Lancôme Énergie de Vie Overnight Recovery Sleeping Mask. I started using the free sample that came with my Sephora purchase pre-Quarantine and I am in love. This mask is great for evening-out skin tones and leaves you with perfectly moisturized- but not too oily - and healthy looking skin as soon as you wake up. While this mask is definitely price-y, it is so worth the investment.
5. To complete a minimalist makeup routine in the morning during quarantine, I use the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer to cover up dark circles from long nights zooming friends. It comes in over 30 shades to match a variety of skintones and is one of the best concealers for sensitive skin.
6. To wake up refreshed I always turn to the Clinique Exfoliating Scrub and Cleanser. This duo both refreshes your skin, cleans out your pores and leaves your skin matted and fresh. These two products are crucial to my morning routine in quarantine - especially while I try to use this time to let me skin heal itself from wearing makeup in college.
I hope my must-have beauty and skincare products help you start your own morning and night time routines in quarantine and after! I hope These products can help us all enter life post-quarantine our most natural, confident and beautiful selves.
