Fall 2020 Moodboard

By Lilly Reed and Maren Beverly

The leaves are starting to change, which can only mean one thing—  it’s time to swap our white jeans for dark wash Levi’s. And so begins fashion’s favorite season, fall. With the arrival of cool weather in Winston, we can’t wait to bring out our cozy sweaters and beloved boots. Because, let’s face it, we’re all slightly tired of our sandals. Zoom might have us stuck inside for class, but that doesn’t mean we have to ditch our style this season. As college students, lovers of all things fashion and fall enthusiasts, we broke down the trendiest colors and styles this fall. So, if you’re lacking outfit inspiration for your one in-person class of the week— we present to you, the fall fashion bible.

Cottage core sweaters, anyone?

Clay Brown

Brown is back and better than ever after a suspiciously long hibernation, reclaiming its throne as the backbone of fall hues.

Embrace your inner skater girl with these brown cargo pants.

The perfect accessory for this jumpsuit would be a farmers market on a chilly October morning.

TOP 3 STYLE TRENDS

90s Prep

The preppy look has made a comeback—but not the Lilly Pulitzer, excessive monogram preppy you’re probably thinking of. We’re talking about a vintage preppy. The classic, refined, tasteful prep of the nineties.

Sweater Vests

If the idea of a sweater vest scares you (we get it), start with this simple white one. But, if you’re willing to dive into the sweater vest trend, look no further than this funky take on a classic piece.

Collars

Statement collars are here to spice up our outfits like a pumpkin spice latte on a Monday morning. Keep an eye out for pointed and embellished collars.

Blazer Sets

Is there anything cozier than a vintage sweater?

All Leather Everything

Say hello to our street style staple. With leather continuing to resurface as a fall basic, we play with how to keep making it look better and better in an undercover spy with a girl boss moment kinda way.

Leather shorts

The perfect balance for a North Carolina fall.

The easiest way to look put together.

1-800 boys lie. Enough said.

Biker shorts, high socks, hairclip vibe

Diana was the ultimate trend setter for this one. New brands are starting to catch on, but old styles stay resurfacing.
